Today is my youngest son’s 16th birthday. Two things are hard to believe. The first is that it has been 16 years since I saw my son born and he was handed to my husband and then to me. I am so thankful that I was chosen to be Tim’s mom. I love him so much. It is also hard to believe in just a few years he will be grown. Already he has gotten his first job and is learning to drive. It will be difficult when this last chick leaves the nest.
Now, before getting too mushy, on to scrapping. I saw a similar sun on a blog awhile back and have been looking for the perfect page to use it on. It was very easy to make. I used a 1 1/2″ circle punch and a 2″ pendant punch. I punched out one circle and 6 pendants. After punching the pendants I cut them in 1/2 and that made the rays. (I had one left over). I then decided where I wanted the sun at on the decorative background paper and then lightly adhered the circle and then the rays. I put the edges of the rays under the circle. I found a gold glitter button and added a small ribbon in the holes and used a glue dot to adhere it to the center of the sun.
I then matted all my pics. One of them had a stranger in the background so I got rid of that part and matted that pic with another of my hubby.I figured out the placement of my mounted photos and then adhered them to the layout. Two of the sun’s rays slightly overlapped one photo. I then added stickers. The layout is finished and awesome!
Have a wonderful day!
