Punching Circles

Hi friends,

I wanted to make the layout today blend with the layout from yesterday (sewn circle idea from Amy Tangerine) so I wanted to keep similar colors in the layout and I wanted circles.  The layout is about the same excursion as yesterdays.  It is actually of a Black Beard Headstone.  Our guide (can’t remember her name) said he wasn’t actually buried there but he had been on the island.  The two layouts will be side by side in the album.

To make the layout I had a piece of decorative paper (12″x12″) and then I trimmed a piece of white paper to 10″x10″.  I centered the white paper in the middle of the orange paper and adhered it.  The reasoning behind the white paper is because I knew there was going to be a lot of colors and patterns with the circles and I didn’t want it to be too overwhelming.

I then punched circles (several sizes) out of scraps of paper.  I matted my two photos (one of which had been trimmed down).  I had a cloth tag that I wanted on the page also.  I figure out where I wanted the photos and tag and then adhered them.  I then started playing with all the circles.  I also had two metal stickers that I wanted on the page.  I decided the placement of all of these things and then started adhering them.  Finally – last touch – the beloved enamel dots.  I put them all over.

Black Beards grave - or not.

Black Beards grave – or not.

Well, that is all for today.  Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!

God bless!

  1. This is a great way to use up scrap paper!! I think the white paper helps anchor the page since you used a lot of different patterns.

  2. Journey, Travel, Explore, Getaway, and Relax. You sure did all of those. If I remember right, Brad had a Black Beard. If I had a tomb stone everywhere I went, I would be all over the place. ha Lots of different circles made out of different designs, and different sizes. What fun you had putting this together. I see the little camera and all the pretty enamel dots.
