Sewing a Statement

Hi everyone!

Do you have plans for the bringing in the new years tonight?

Today’s layout is an idea I got from Amy Tangerine’s blog.  I have mentioned her before and really enjoy a lot of her scrapbooking ideas.

The part that I scraplifted is the sewn heart with the sewn “xo” in the middle.

I punched a heart and then poked holes with a needle at intervals that would look nice with sewing on the cardstock I was using for my background page.  I then used my letter template for sewing letters and poked holes for the x and o.  I then started on the back of the paper and sewed the the heart and the letters.

After sewing on the cutie heart and letters I added a matted picture.  I matted it on a pink piece of cardstock that was slightly bigger than the picture and then I matted that on a tan piece of 8 1/2″x11″ cardstock.  I added a cute sticker and a border sticker showing little feeties.  Oh what a CUTE picture.  I loved Amy Tan’s simple heart.

Have a fun, safe night!

God bless!

  1. The album of Abby is a work of art. You really put a lot of time and love into each idea. What a wonderful gift to leave her someday. Only a grandmother could of came up with such great ideas. It’s funny how all babies seem to grab their feet before anything else. So cute. It’s what makes them so sweet that we want to love and protect them. I don’t even consider trying that myself. I couldn’t even get my leg that high. ha The little sewn heart is a good idea. Someday the grandkids will understand what it means to cherish the times they spend with you and you with them. It is true happiness. A lovely page.
