Managed a week of PL. I am determined not to get so far behind this year. Hopefully this summer won’t throw me for a loop!
Complete layout of PL week 11.
The top left picture is a picture of Tim trying on a tux. He had just been measured for a tux for prom. The top right picture is a picture that we posed for at Chuck E Cheese. The kids hadn’t been in a long time. (Maybe ever). We met after the tux fitting.
The second small slot and the bottom left slot are pictures from my grandkids in KS. Whenever there are pics posted on Facebook I use them in a lot of my Project Life albums.
The third small slot is a closeup of my brother’s eye. It looks like an evil eye. It is really an eye that got hurt while he was hunting.
The bottom right picture is of my Absey Doodle on St. Patrick’s Day. She was covered in green – no pinches.
The top small slot is a PL journaling card. I put a sticker that said family. With alternating ink colors I wrote about what was happening in the pictures.
The last small slot is a PL card that I put a St Patrick’s Day sticker on. I also put “Week 11” in alpha and numeric stickers. Of course they were green.
That is all. Hopefully tomorrow will be another day of scrapping. I am taking Matthew to the library for reading hour so we will have to see. 😉
This is a one pager. Not a lot happening this week that I recorded.
Complete layout of PL week 10.
The first picture is of Tim holding a huge box of conversation hearts (his favorite candy). I found them at a very low price after Valentine’s day. I trimmed the upper right side of the picture off and attached it to a pink PL card. I wrote in red ink about it being Tim’s favorite candy on the part of the PL card that shows.
The upper right card has part of a newspaper article about the “American Idol” boy that is from Bluffton and is Tim’s friend. I attached part of the title, a picture from the paper, and part of the article to a PL card. I wrote in white ink about him being Tim’s friend in his class at high school.
The top small PL card is a PL journaling card. I wrote about how we hadn’t watched “American Idol” for several seasons but with the Bluffton boy on there we have followed the whole season. The 2nd small card is a PL card that says, “The Best Thing Ever”.
The bottom left slot has a PL clear frame card bordered by chipboard. It says, “live it up!”. I put a green PL card behind it so that the back of a picture from the previous page wouldn’t show.
The last three slots have part of my brother’s tractor in it. It was my grandfather’s tractor that he has been refurbishing for a long time. It is almost done and it is gorgeous! I put it in three different slots because it is a horizontal picture and the slot is vertical. I attached it to different PL cards. The large slot is on a PL journaling card. I wrote about the tractor on the bottom of it. On the 3rd small slot that it is on I also put a sticker of a barn. On the 4th (last) small slot that a wee piece of the tractor is on I had a lot of space left so I made it my “Week 10” card. I used the clear acrylic disk that has a gold 10. I then added green alpha stickers for the word “week”.
Hopefully tomorrow I will start (and hopefully complete) week 11. Depends on my crazy life. 🙂
Hi friends and family,
I managed to get another quickie Matthew page done. Before I show it to you I want to give you a tip. When I know that I am going to do an album in the future I get ideas in my mind about what would be cute and I start looking for things to go in that album. I have a large envelope that I put a lot of baby things in because I knew that I would make a baby/toddler album for each of my grandchildren. If something is for a particular child I put it in the cardboard envelope that I have their pics that I want to scrap. When I went on a cruise I started looking for those stickers and papers in advance. For me it works best because I don’t just run down to the local store and buy what they have in stock. When I go out of town I look at stores that we don’t have in this area. Sometimes I look on Amazon or Ebay if I want something in particular. Also, my friend, Terri, knows some of my potential albums (as I do some of hers) and when she runs into a cute sticker or paper at a super duper price she will grab it for me.
This page will go right beside the page that I posted yesterday. I used paper that had the polka dots and looked a lot like that paper. I matted Matthew’s picture (he is wearing the same shirt as yesterday’s post) and adhered it to the background paper. The yellow cardstock is a poem about barefoot little boys. Perfect for a beach theme page. I added water drops above and below the poem. I then added two beach ball di-cuts that I had for years. I didn’t know when I was going to use them but I knew that I loved them and that I did a lot of pictures involving the water since we live so close to the ocean. This picture is about toddler and water so they worked out perfectly.
That is all I did for this layout. It turned out mighty fine!
Another quick page for Matthew’s album (I do one for all of my grandkiddos).
A picture taken at Portrait Innovations and a picture with him wearing the same shirt at the beach. They are both beach pictures so it is perfect.
I used one of the pages that was included in the scrapbook kit. I had to change it up a bit because they had spaces for the pictures going in different directions than my pictures I matted both pictures and adhered them to the page over the blank spaces meant for the pictures. The left picture had a little bit of the space showing still so I found a perfect boarder sticker and added it to the page. It says, “Aloha Baby”.
On the bottom portion of the page is a spot for journaling. I journaled and added 4 button stickers to the corners. Finally there was a sticker that was included with the scrapbook that says, “You are my Son Shine”. I had to put it centered underneath the bigger picture. It worked perfectly.
Once I am through with all of his pictures from the photographer I am going to find the pictures of him and Abby at the photographer together. Finally, I am going to go through the pictures I have taken and find some of the best ones. That will be tough. Then I will scrap those. That is my plan. After this album is done I need to work on Tim’s album. He will be a senior next year. I want to have his albums ready for his graduation party.
We have been back from all of our fun/crazy running around. Here is a quick page that I managed to get done and it turned out really cute. How couldn’t it, sweet Matthew is the focus of the page.
Matthew enjoying the Christmas season.
I took a Christmas paper (all it had was “Merry Christmas” written in tan on a red background) and made it a little more fun by covering the words with Stickles in blue. I love me some shine and glitter! 🙂
I took the 8″x10″ of Matthew and put a tan mat behind it. It is very narrow. It just adds a little polish to the layout.
I then used a green with white speckles Christmas tree di-cut that I already had and made it a little more snazzy. It is kind of hard to see in the picture but on each branch I added a different color of the Stickles to look like an ornament. I then colored in the star on top with the gold Stickle. I drew down the trunk with a green (really the only part that shows up in the picture.
Finally, I added a piece of peppermint candy sticker to each corner of Matthew’s picture.
An easy page for a lady with very little time. But it is cute and it goes perfectly in his album.
Last summer I made a summer wreath for my door. When one of my friends visited she really loved it and I told her that I would make her one and bring it when we visited. I made her one and then another friend that we visited over the weekend. They are almost the same.
Wreath for NC friend.
Wreath for FL friend.
I added different flowers and different color sunglasses and sand toys. On the NC wreath I added a few butterflies. The directions on how to make the wreaths are on another post. If you are interested, just go to the category Other Crafts and scroll down. It will be easy to find.
I am getting ready to bring out our wreath that I made last year. I am going to have to re-glue some of the items but it shouldn’t take too much effort.
Hope all is going well for you!
Well, if you read my previous post you will know that I am in FL. I decided to do a page last week and post it for today’s date. That way I won’t be gone from the blog so long. 🙂 I hope you (and us, too) had a great weekend!
This is the beginning of my grandson’s, Matthew, album. I have done one for each of my grandchildren. This one is out of order. I have a really special page planned for the first page of the album and I wanted to have a lot of time to dedicate to it. I didn’t have that kind of time when I did this page. I can’t wait to do it and show it to you.
My sweet grandson!
I bought an album that had premade pages. I wasn’t planning on doing that but when I went to Michaels they had 60% off all albums. There were only a couple of boy albums so I bought the cutest one. They had all of the premade pages inside that were pretty cute. I didn’t want to waste them but I wanted to make them my own. I actually combined two pages to make this layout. The top of the page is the first page. I then cut out “special boy” and put it where I wanted it to be. I covered a spot that was supposed to be for another picture. “Special boy” was on one line so I cut it in two and trimmed it down to be just how I liked it. I then found the perfect tag that I already had and wrote what day the picture was taken and how old he was. I found the perfect brad, too. I thought that a splash of polka dots was perfect for all of the lines on the page. I hung the tag around the brad.
It turned out really cute.
God bless you and yours!
This is the last post before the kids in the house are on spring break. We are excited. We are going to go to Disney (just 5 hours from here) on Saturday. My middle son and his family are going home afterwards. Brad, Tim, and I are going further south in FL to visit friends. Sounds like a lot of picture taking!
Part II of PL week 9.
This page is almost all about Matthew. Lately he has been begging (not asking) me to take pictures of him. Usually I do.
The first picture is at the park.
The top small one is on the bench outside of the school.
The top right large one is of Matthew and his daddy before he left for a job interview (he got the job!).
All of the bottom portion is at the library. I took the telephone pics because when I was little a photographer took my ( and my sister’s) picture and I wanted to compare them.
In the second small slot I put a PL journaling card where I used letter and number stickers to write what day it was. I hand wrote the word “week” and put the clear disk of the number 9 on a piece of cardstock, which I trimmed around the disk, and attached to the journaling card. I wrote about what was happening in the pics and added a butterfly sticker.
That is all for week 9. Hope you have an awesome weekend!
I managed to get the first part of week 9 done. Didn’t add anything extra (grandson was wanting to go have fun). 🙂
First part of PL week 9.
The top two pics are from my cousin Ren’s memorial service. I printed out a pic from Facebook of the program from the service. The second picture is of family that attended. In the far right small slot I wrote about the top row pics and listed the people in the picture.
The small slots were of when Brad and I took a fairly long hike on a trail. The third slot is a picture of (I think) a beehive way up in the tree.
The bottom left slot had Abigail holding a book that she made. The she took a picture of the book and her thumb giving a thumbs up. I trimmed the photos down and put them on a PL card. I then put a small border sticker in between so it was easier to see where one picture began and one ended.
The bottom right slot is a picture that I found on the internet that I printed showing Leap year. I also wrote on it with a slickwriter marker about the pics of the hike and Absey Doodles’ book.
That is all for this post. Hope your day is absolutely awesome!
It has been about a year and a half since my buds came to visit. The three of us bought the same scrapbook and printed the same pictures. We then made our own scrapbooks and wanted to compare them after we were finished. I was in the lead for several months but then I stopped for awhile when I was almost finished. My friends went to a scrapping weekend together and did their scrapbooks there. I did take what I had completed down last summer. Finally, mine is finished. I will take mine back to KS again this summer so we can compare the finished products. Here is my last page.
The last page of a scrapbook. So happy to be finished.
The last page is of some snapshots that were taken of downtown Savannah. It has a lot of beautiful ironwork in the form of gates, statues, fences, etc.. I took a black page (it does have black polka dots on it) and added a decoration that says “beautiful” on it down the left side of the page. It also had one flower on the right side. It had a big blank spot on the left side so I dug around and found a couple of paper flowers in my stash. I added one there and then I later added one on the top right side of the page. There is fake stitching all the way around the decoration that I just love. I didn’t know what I had been saving this for but it worked out perfectly. On the top of the page I found sparkly letters for the name Savannah but I didn’t have enough “a’s”. I decided to use the sparkly letters for everything but the “a’s” and then use other chipboard alphas in a dark pink color for the “a’s”.
I then figured out what pictures I wanted on the page and where I wanted them. I attached them and trimmed some edges. I wanted to make it easy to see where one picture begins and one ends so I decided to use border stickers all around the pictures. I had to use different border stickers but I used all pink ones that looked scrolly. I thought it looked kind of like the iron on some of the gates and fences.
I had a blank spot underneath the title so I used some flower rub-ons there.
I really like this page. It was a great way to end the album.
