It is Leap Year Day!
Happy leap year!
Managing to get another week done on PL. Week 3! Not too many weeks behind! So much better than last year!
Complete PL week 3 layout.
The top right slot is of Tim opening a present from his girlfriend. She and her dad came to visit. I continued the picture in the next small slot. In the large slot I put the picture on a PL journaling card. I put a border sticker down one side of the card (and on the card in the small slot, too). I then put the clear acrylic circle that has a gold 3 on the lower section of the card and put gold alpha stickers that say “week” beside it. In the small slot I put the picture on a PL card. I added the border sticker and on the extra space I wrote the date using a gold marker.
The second small space is a PL card with gold hearts all over it. I put a chipboard circle that says HI on it.
The top right large slot is a picture of my granddaughter Lily chilling with a friend and eating a snack. I put the picture on a PL card and trimmed off the extra. I added a border sticker above and below the picture. I then put little stickers of fruits and veggies (they are snacking on carrots) on the border sticker. Finally I added a small sticker, up above, that says “Let’s eat”.
The bottom left picture is adhered to a PL card with a border sticker above and below (this is the day for border stickers). It is a picture of Abigail with a flower decoration that I made her. I had her help tell me where to put the flowers so that she would feel involved in the project. The third small slot is a closeup of the arrangement.
The bottom small slot is a PL card. It was actually a large PL card that I trimmed down. Finally, the bottom right slot is a large PL card with a small PL card adhered to it. I journaled on the small card and added chipboard embellishments. I actually made a mistake and used a journaling card going the wrong direction. I think it ended up looking even better being adhered to the large PL card. Make lemonade from lemons. 🙂
That is all for week 3.
Hope all of you have great plans for the weekend. We were out of town last week end. This weekend we need to get things done that we didn’t get done then. But it will be the weekend so it has to be ok, right?
Week 2 complete layout.
The first picture on the top left and then the top small slot is a picture of a bicycle metal wall hanging that I found (and bought). My bedroom has lots of flowers and bicycles. My favorite things have bicycles with flowers in the baskets. The picture was horizontal and the slot was vertical so I put it on a PL card and where it hung over the card I trimmed it off and attached it to a small PL card. I did lose a small portion of the picture but it is easy to get the idea. On the bottom of the large slot is a bicycle sticker and a clear acrylic circle with the number two on it in gold. I put the word “week” in alpha stickers. On the small PL card I put a cardstock stickers that says fabulous. I also drew little hearts and wrote about the bicycle on the extra space.
I was sick (from this medicine I was using) a lot during January and February. This was during one of those times. The kids came in to entertain me quite frequently. In the top right picture Matthew was wearing a mustache. I had to take his picture. I then told him to go get me one. I then had to take an “usie” with our mustaches. The bottom left pic was Matthew and Absey sporting their staches.
The bottom small pic and then the bottom right pic are of the kids with Olaf suckers. The small slot up above that is a PL journaling card with a border sticker below and word stickers above. I wrote about the page on the card.
That is it for week two. Trying to get and stay caught up in 2016. Feeling pretty good about it.
The last part of week 1. Hoping this large layout isn’t a trend for 2016 PL album.
Part III of PL week one.
The day before the kids went back to school I took Matthew and Absey doodle to a bounce house. They had a great time. That is what the first half of the layout is about.
The second half is about a grand idea that I had that kind of fizzled out. I had bought these cute hats before Christmas. I could just imagine the kids with them on dressed up like snowmen. I bought Matthew a plain white shirt and Absey a fuzzy white hooded vest. Before I finally took the tree down I wanted to take the pics. Abigail was NOT in the mood. I was dreaming of these pics being on our Christmas cards for 2016. Not going to happen. 🙁 I still had to put in them in PL. 🙂
Continuing on to the second part of week one.
Project Life week one part two.
We took a day trip to Jacksonville, FL. It is just over two hours away. We explored (and Tim skated) one of the skateparks. I liked it because they HAD to wear a helmet. The first picture is of a cool bench. I think we might make something similar (or maybe one without a back) out of Tim’s old boards. He has been saving them. We were originally thinking shelves but I like the bench idea. The rest of the slots are just pics. The one that say’s Kona’s is a painted ramp and that is the name of the skatepark. In the last slot I trimmed down the photo and attached it to a PL journaling card. I then put a cool “RIDE” sticker on the photo.
If I stay caught up on the PL this year, I will be able to add more variety to this blog. At least that is the plan. The way I intend to do that is I will print all of the pics for the month all at once and then they will be available to scrap. That way I will only print PL pics 12 times this year. I hope that it works and I am better able to stay caught up that way.
First PL layout for 2016.
The first slot is a cardstock overlay that I put a piece of polka dot paper behind the “HELLO”. I also put a circle sticker over the “O” in the word “HELLO”. The sticker says, “brand new”. Thought it was perfect because it was a brand new year and a brand new album. I hope it doesn’t make “HELLO” look like “HELL”. :/ I also added a “hello” sticker up above the cutout. Finally I added the clear acrylic tag that says “2016”.
The next large slot is Brad and I reclining on the beach waiting for the fireworks at Tybee on New Years Eve. I added a “beach” sticker.
The small slots are as follows:
-A picture of the fireworks.
-A PL card that says Jan 1.
-A PL journaling card that I talk about the fireworks and about the next small slot and The large slot below it.
-A newspaper picture of three of my cousins who were all born on New Years. The large layout below is the article that I attached to a PL card. My dad’s name (spelled incorrectly) was also in the newspaper because he was also a New Year’s baby. I also continue journaling from the PL journaling card above about what the article contains.
The last large picture, on the bottom left side of the page, is another fireworks shot. I put a “marvelous” sticker on it.
That is how I started the new album. More to follow.
Hi my FAITHFUL followers,
You have put up with a lot by looking at this blog post and WAITING for me to finish this album. Here is my last page.
Last page of my PL 2015 album.
The first picture is of Ben pushing Matthew at the new park we had discovered. I love this picture. I have a lot more of Ben playing with the kids but this is PL and we only put a few pictures (at least some of the time). The first small slot is Absey climbing into the boat playground. The bottom vertical picture is Abigail and Matthew on the swing. There was another child on the swing with them but no one that we knew. I put the happy chipboard sticker on the side of the picture. I just love it and how it goes with the picture. The kids had a great time.
The second small slot is of a license tag that Brad and I saw. It had a name on it that was Brad’s nickname as a small tyke.
The first horizontal picture is of fireworks that we saw at exactly midnight on the last day of the year/first day of the new year.
The last slot had a cardboard looking PL card that says “wow oh wow” in gold. I then attached a clear acrylic tag that says “2015” in gold. I wrote “Goodbye” in gold right before the 2015 but it didn’t really show so I outlined it in brown. I also wrote that Brad and I went to Tybee Island to bring in the New Year.
A picture of the shelf where my 2014 and 2015 PL albums are kept.
The whole shelf that they are kept on.
The top of the shelf that they are kept on.
A close up of the sign that is on the top of the shelf. I love it! It is right by a mirror. Cracks me up.
Well, this album is done! Tomorrow – the first page in the PL 2016 album. This year I am trying a new tactic to not get so far behind. I will tell you more tomorrow.
Closing in on this crazy album (and crazy week).
Fun December days.
The first small slot is a pic of Abigail enjoying her marshmallows (she loves her marshmallows just like her great grandma Ruff). The second small slot is a continuation of the marshmallows (and hot chocolate). I used a PL chipboard frame that I put in front of the picture. I also added a sticker that says, “Hot Cocoa”. Both of these small slot’s pictures were trimmed down. The large photo underneath the two small photos was also of the hot cocoa time. I added a journaling sticker (that I journaled on) and then put a little sticker on top of that. It says, “story”.
The rest of the page’s pictures are of a skatepark/park that Tim had discovered with his buddies. Amazingly, it is just a few blocks from where I get my hair done (it is about 30 minutes away from our home). If you are ever this way and need your hair done I have a great hairdresser that is very reasonable. 😉 I was only able to get one picture of Tim because he hates it when I take pictures of him skating (and pretty much any other time). It isn’t a great one. I used my Slick writers and wrote on the pictures. If you can’t tell, the play area is a large boat. We also have a similar park here in town but the boat isn’t as big.
That is it. Next post will be the closing one for the 2015 PL album. Finally!
This is getting crazy, right? I knew it was going to be this way. There are so many pics that didn’t get into the PL album, too.
Finishing up Christmas and then our picnic on the beach.
After presents were open, Ben and Brad put together the kids’ bikes. They rode for quite awhile. Matthew’s is a balancing bike. No pedals or training wheels. It is supposed to teach kids how to ride a bike without the the need of training wheels. He loves it. On the second row I attached a bicycle tag to a PL card. The second small slot is me out watching the kids. I really don’t care for this picture of me besides the fact that it reminds me a lot of my mom. The third small slot has two pics pared down and attached to a PL card. The last small slot is a snowman picture (don’t see snowmen where we live now) on a PL card.
The bottom row consists of Brad and I picnicking on the beach. I got a picnic basket when I was with my friend, Debbie, in CA over spring break last year. We got matching picnic baskets. When we visit each other we are going to picnic. Also, when we go on picnics we will think of each other. We both had always wanted a nice one. Well, I had never used mine. The day before Brad had to go back to work was a very nice temperature (a little cloudy). We packed a very quick picnic and hit the beach. The first large slot is a picture of me holding a plate (Debbie sent me these awesome plates for my birthday). I trimmed it down and attached it to a PL card. On the right side of the card I put a picture of the picnic basket that I had trimmed down. I also put the perfect border sticker as a divider on the card. It says “Yum! Yum! Yum!”. I also journaled on the card. I got a lot of use out of that slot. The last large slot also has two pics in it. The first are Brad’s toes in the sand. The second is a LARGE snake that we saw while walking up to the beach. I hadn’t seen one by the beach before. Creeped me out a bit. Some people think it is a coral snake. Others a corn snake. I hope it is a corn snake because they are not poisonous.
Trying to finish this thing up. At least Christmas day! Whew!
The top row was more presents being opened. I added something a little special to the pics. I had some red and green small doilies. I attached them to parts of the pic and then trimmed off the extra. I’ve said it before but in case you are new to the blog and scrapping – the best way to trim off the extra pieces on photos and layouts is to turn it over to the back side and you can see what is hanging over the edge and trim it off.
The first small slot is Ben after opening his Kindle. The second small slot is a Christmas PL card. I wrote about the rest of the pics being of our KS kids. I also put a sticker on it that says, “family”. The rest of the pics are our kiddos in KS opening presents.
I hope you are all fans of Christmas and understand why this part of the album is so large!
The first large slot is of Tim when he opened a Twenty One Pilots flag that he has been wanting to hang above his headboard of his bed. The second pic is of Abigail (and Amber) with her new tablet that her folks got her. The first small slot is a piece of Christmas cardstock cut down to size with a sticker that says “presents” on it. The second small slot is Tim with a new shirt. The third small slot is Brad opening a present. The last small slot is my hand with a ring that Brad got me. It has his, our three boys, and my birthstones in it. The bottom row has Abby and Matthew with lanterns that we got them so we can go for night time walks. The bottom right pic is Matthew opening his bicycle from us.
