This week was a quiet one as far as Project Life is concerned. No need to worry about a two page layout this time.
The complete PL week 18 layout.
The top left picture is of Grandpa rocking and reading to Matthew. He loves to be read to. His favorite books are “Fun With Dick and Jane”. I bought them for Abigail to practice reading but Matthew loves for them to be read to him – over and over again. They are short pages to read but over 100 per book. Good thing he is such a sweetheart!
The top right picture is of baby Jep. I have two nephews that I haven’t met yet but will get the chance to in just over a month. I can’t wait. They are growing like weeds.
The bottom left picture is of my son taking a nap with his son. We’ve got similar snapshots quite frequently. They are napping buddies.
The small slots are three homemade cards and one PL card. The top one is a homemade one. It has a sticker that says “Memories” and below I talk about rockin’ and readin’. The second one is my Week 18 card. I made it also. I put a sticker that says “Today” and has journaling lines. I put Week 18 on the lines. I also added a “Love” sticker. The third slot is the actual PL card that says, “Tomorrow is a new day”. Very true statement. Finally, the last small slot is a homemade card that I put an arrow journaling sticker that says, “Check it out”. On the journaling place I wrote about nap time. Finally, the last large slot has a PL card that says, “Be Happy”.
Easy week. We need one of those once in awhile. 🙂
Another quick scrapbook layout. On this page I had bought a postcard that I wanted to use. It filled a large portion of the layout.
Rustic Hunting Island and wonderful lighthouse.
I had bought the die cut of the ViewMaster reel. I loved to use my ViewMaster when I was a kid. I then found the decorative paper of ViewMaster reels that I used for my background paper. Behind the die cut I adhered a circle that I had punched from a decorative paper of clouds and sky. I then added a puff sticker to the front of the reel and used my Crop-a-Dile to make a hole through the puff sticker. I adhered it to the page above the postcard. I layered two pictures of the sign when entering the state park and of the lighthouse. The last touch was stickers that I added to some of the empty spots in the layout. I love the ViewMaster reel. I think it added a unique touch to the page.
God bless you and yours on this wonderful June day! This day is a day that I am reminded how blessed I am because it is my 31st anniversary. Love my hubby!
Another week documented and only on one page again. Yippee!
PL Week 17
The top half of the page is dedicated to soccer. The right picture is of Matthew standing on the line that separated the players from the rest of us. He wanted to go and play so badly but knew that he couldn’t. Maybe next year. 🙁
The bottom left picture is of Absey’s art work that she did at school. It was of clay. She made it into a sculpture of The Statue of Liberty. It was actually very good. I knew that it was going to get broken before long so I had to take a snapshot. The bottom right picture is of Grandpa squirting whipped cream into Absey’s mouth. She got more than one squirt because I had to get the shot. We were babysitting and that is just what happens sometimes. 😉 (Usually with me). The small Week 17 card was actually a PL card. It says Live Happy and I wrote Week 17 with a white pen. First I used a paint brush white pen for the “W” and “17”. It really didn’t show up well so I filled in with regular white marker pen. I also wrote the “eek” with it. On the small card below I put a sticker that says, “When grandparents enter the door, discipline flies out the window.” That really isn’t true in our case but it went great with the picture. I then added a journaling rub-on with goodies on it. I wrote about the wonderful picture.
That is it for week 17.
Every time that friends come down I have to take them to the Savannah Wildlife Refuge and get my alligator fix. It is a free activity that is really awesome. To make this layout stand out with a subtle “trick” I used a texture plate that looks like leather (like alligator skin).
The texture plate, stylus, and mat that I was working on.
Using texture plates does require quite a bit of hand work. My hand does get pretty tired. Since I was using the texture on the picture mats only about 1/2″ of the paper would be showing all the way around. Since it is so tiring I just created texture on the outer edges and not on the part that the picture would be covering. To use these you just lay the paper over the plate and rub the stylus over the paper.
Besides adding texture to the mats this page was very easy. I layered and attached the matted photos. I then added two stickers and a sticker journaling tag. To finish the page I wrote on the tag.
Hope you are having a wonderful June!
Finally, a one page PL layout. This is what I planned on most of the weeks for this year. It seems like there is almost always a reason to expand the layout. Not this week. 🙂
Complete layout of PL week 16.
The top left picture is of a picnic basket. When I was in CA my friend and I ordered identical picnic baskets. It arrived soon after I got home. What I didn’t plan on were beautiful plates being sent to me (early birthday presents) for my basket. So sweet! The picture right beside it is of Absey taking a drink break at soccer. The whole family went for the Saturday game. I love the small picture below it. Abs was kicking in the ball and she went for it. Her leg was extended all the way out. After the game we all went to Hilton Head to eat pizza and then go to the beach. At the beach someone had built a tomb for a lot of the jelly fish laying around. It cracked me up so I had to take a picture. The other small slots had a sticker that says, “That’s what friends are for”, a PL card telling about the picnic basket and the Saturday of Absey’s game, and a PL colored card that I put a piece of cardstock that had MVP on it and soccer stickers. Finally, I found a saying that I liked on Facebook. I printed it out and added “Week 16” on the sides. The saying is, “Anyone can find the dirt in someone. Be the one that finds the gold. Proverbs 11:27”. Love it!
That is all for PL week 16. I am way behind but making progress!
