Hi my friends!
For this picture I matted it and then mounted it on decorative cardstock. I then had perfect brads to help me frame this picture. I put one on each corner of the mat and then found a green thread that complimented some of the colors in the picture. I wrapped the thread around each brad leaving plenty of room at the end to tie a bow. It was nice having my son home when I scrapped. He put his finger in the middle to make it nice and tight. 🙂
Incomplete scanned layout.
Complete layout (but again very blurry) taken with my cell phone camera.
To finish the page I added a shell sticker and wrote the date the picture was taken on it.
Quick and easy for a day when I wanted to scrap but didn’t have a lot of time. My Absey is growing up!
Hope your day is wonderful and you can throw a little bit of fun into it!
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! But today I am scrapping birthday! This is a precious picture of Absey playing dress up. In today’s layout I am using a play on words for the title. Since it is her first birthday and she is wonderful I am combining the two and using the title “ONEDERFUL”.
Incomplete, scanned page.
Complete page taken with my cell phone camera and VERY blurry.
To make this layout I found the background paper I wanted to use and put it on my magnetic project mat. I used the magnetic ruler to hold the paper in place and as a guideline for the title. I then put down the letter stickers. I had already matted the picture and I decided the exact placement for it. I then found a whole lotta flower stickers from different companies (Bo Bunny, Sandy Lion, etc.) and started arranging them on the page. I kept the flowers green (teal) and pink. I also put a sticker border across the top and one side. Finally I layered two cloth flowers and attached them with a brad.
The page is finished and I am very pleased!
Have a blessed day!
I’ve been trying to say that as much as possible. I have been sick since just before my grandkids left. 🙁 I am starting to feel better but this dang cough! Everyday I have been doing a little to get ready for Christmas. I’ve been wrapping a few gifts, mailing a few cards, getting a few presents in the mail. We have the tree up but there is a pile of plastic bins in the middle of my living room. Everyday I have tackled at least one. My energy left me with this sickness but it is starting to come back, too.
We did do a REALLY fun thing this weekend. I wouldn’t have went but I had already paid for it. We took a trolley tour in Savanah to look at lights. They also stopped at a fancy schmancy hotel and we saw a whole lotta gingerbread houses. There was a contest. These houses were amazing. I have a few pics to show you.
One of many groups of houses.
A riverboat in Savannah.
The hotel where the competition was displayed.
I think this is the convention center.
The tree was made of popcorn.
A reading tree?
The gingerbread man and woman get married.
I love this – reminds me of my bestie in CA’s new house.
This one really made me laugh. The gingerbread man was huge!
A lot of stuff going on in this display.
There were SO many more but these were some of the best. They served us hot cocoa and gingerbread men. We all sang songs as we rode along in the trolley. Tim dreaded going but he even ended up enjoying it – to some degree. 😉
So that sums up my week. Not much, huh. I am excited about Christmas but it is coming TOO quickly. I have so much to get in the mail in the next few days. Most of it to be mailed is already bought – praise the Lord. After it all gets in the mail I will focus on poor Tim and Brad.
Hope you are more successful at getting ready for the festivities than I have been.
I saw this on Facebook and thought I would share. Might of been nice to share it a few weeks ago but not too late for most of the ideas.
Run through this list a time or two to remind yourself to break out the camera.
God bless! and have fun!
Hi my scrapping friends,
As I was scrapbooking today and dealing with all of my alphabet stickers, I was getting frustrated (as I always do) trying to figure out which ones to use. Before, I had them all in a plastic pocket in a binder. It was even torn and they kept falling out.
I have a couple of empty organization cubes that my sister-in-law gave me. She went to strictly digital scrapbooking (silly girl) 😉 . One of them is a filing drawer to keep scrapbooking paper in. I already have one that is used for the paper. I was trying to figure out what to do with the extra one (it has been setting there empty for over a month). I really didn’t need it for more paper. Today it dawned on me to use it for my alphabet stickers. I will label them with the colors (black, blue, green…) just like the paper and then have a few extra for letter stickers that are muli colored or crystals – different. I am so excited.
I actually got started but ran out of the Post-It sticker tags for the top of each file. I discovered these tags when I was putting together the paper cube. Tomorrow I will hunt for some at the office supply store. My scrapping life just got easier.
The filing cube.
More organization! Yea!
Life just got a little easier!
I decided to plug in the Cricut again. First time since the move. I was hoping it would work and praise the Lord it did. 🙂 I have had a basic idea of this picture for awhile. It is a sonogram picture of my granddaughter. My first actual “look see” of her. It would have been special regardless but since I have three sons (no daughters) and had only one grandson before her – I was super excited to see it was a girl. But… whether she was a boy or girl this baby (and all babies) are created by God. That is the theme of this page.
I wanted to print a partial verse from the Bible and then use the negative with bright paper behind it. I printed, “You knit me together in my mothers womb”. I glued the negative down on a bright piece of heavy decorative paper and then added letter stickers with the Bible verse (the address). I then matted the sonogram picture (it is actually a picture of the picture) and adhered it to the layout.
My sweetie! Scanned partial layout.
Complete page taken with my cell phone camera.
I then added a heart tag that said life is beautiful and I put safety pin decorations that were a part of her baby shower around the tag. I added the cute owl sticker and punched a heart from scraps of “Its a girl” paper. Very darling and meaningful page.
Life is precious no matter how young or how old!
Hi my crafty cohorts,
Today I have so much going on that I am relying on my scrapping friend, Terri, to bring you a layout. It is perfect because it is a Christmas layout.
This year it is really trendy to scrap with non-traditional Christmas colors. That is what Terri did in this layout.
Terri’s awesome layout.
Terri likes to change up her trees and go with a theme. This layout has several of her trees. She wanted to make it look vintage and then also go with the different color scheme. She did a great job. I think too often we get into the mind set of what a Christmas page is supposed to look like. When we do this we limit ourselves. Thanks for the good reminder, Terri! Great page!
God bless you everyone (including Terri),
We had a great week with my middle son, Ben, and his family here. The kids brought colds with them. I was mostly through with the sickness I had but darn if I didn’t get theirs. My immune system must be pretty shot right now.
Here are a few pics of our fun few days.
Absey, playing with magnets.
Brothers walking and talking.
Matthew, observing God’s mighty creation.
Grandpa burying Abby’s feet.
Ben and Matthew.
Abby and Amber.
Grandma and Absey jumping in the waves.
It was a little chilly on the beach. The water was pretty chilly. Abby had never been to the ocean before. She just had to get a little wet. I decided to join her. I’ve waited a long time to play with her at the ocean. A little cold water wasn’t going to stop me (at least when it just reached my ankles)! Next time they come it will be warm weather.
Abby was so excited to go to the beach she jumped up and down with her arms in the air when she hit the sand. She was so happy and adorable.
We showed them the River Street area of Savannah. Ben decided to go country. Tim was too cool for that. 😉 He is wearing a soldier’s hat very stylishly.
Thanksgiving would have been VERY exciting if my oldest and his family could have joined us, too. Maybe next year.
Have a fabulous weekend! We are going to try and get up our Christmas decorations.
Hi everyone! Now only 20 days until CHRISTMAS!!! I am having so much fun being creative with my scrapping lately. Today I am making an awesome butterfly. I saw a similar one on a blog – I think it was called My Minds Eye.
How I made my butterfly was I used a burlap butterfly sticker (biggest sticker) and then I put a slightly smaller canvas sticker on top of it. I added drops of Liquid Pearl all around the canvas edge. I then pierced a hole and added a large brad in the center. What made this butterfly extra fun was I made antennae out of decorative straight pins. To put them on I pushed them behind the brad and used a small thin glue dot on each heart head. Awesome!
Cute CUTE butterfly!
To make the layout I matted two 5″x7″ photos. I then put one in the left corner and one in the bottom right corner. In the top right corner I put the cute butterfly and in the bottom left corner I adhered a sweet baby card.
Scanned incomplete layout. I love the picture of Absey where it looks like she is curtsying.

We can make all kinds of insects with those straight pins.
Hope you are through (or almost) with your Christmas shopping!
Hi! Only 20 days until Christmas Eve! So excited!
Today’s page does not involve pictures. What it has is the invitation to my granddaughter’s baby shower along with the confetti that we used to “cutsie things up”.
To show the confetti I used the packaging from the sequins I bought a few days ago. It is a plastic container that was stapled to cardboard. I removed the staples and used the plastic. How I did this was I measured how big it was around and then on the back of cardstock, that I was using for the background page, I drew the measurements. Using an X-acto knife (on top of a cutting mat) I cut out the rectangle. I taped the plastic rim of the container onto the back of the page. I threw in the confetti (wish I would have saved more) and taped a piece of a paper bag over the opening.
Seems like every time I try something new I make a mistake. Something to improve on the next time. I didn’t think about the paper bag showing through the clear plastic container. Why didn’t I think of that? Too much in this middle aged mind. 🙂 I would have put a really cute piece of decorative paper behind but that is ok. It doesn’t look bad it just doesn’t look as good.
The plastic container and cardstock.

Plastic inserted, confetti thrown in, and the back taped on.
Front of page with the container put on with the confetti inside.
After I finished the confetti box I adhered the announcement and baby shower and boarder stickers. Page complete. 🙂
