Such Pretty Paper

Hey y’all,

Today’s post was so easy to make.  I had a beautiful piece of cardstock that I used.  In order to leave it’s beauty I had to keep the rest really simple.

Oh, what a pretty tree!

I matted the two photos using cardstock that matched the leaves on the tree.  I then added a quote on the bottom.  It was by Henry Thoureau.  “Go confidently in the direction of your dreams.  Live the life you have imagined.”

I love this page so much.  I feel a little guilty because it was so simple.

God bless you and your families!

Crazy Hair, Don’t Care

Hi friends,

Today I completed a silly layout.  Tim has had silly hair at different times.  He has had green hair before he went to a Twenty-one Pilots Concert.  And when he went to his family in Iowa we weren’t sure what hair he would come home with (only happened a couple of times).

Tim with some of his crazy hair (he has also had some awesome hair).

I used two sheets of paper that had different colors of spots (one had orange and one had green).  I matted the orange hair pic with the orange spot paper and the green hair pic with the green spot paper.  I then adhered them to the striped cardstock.  (It had green and orange in it, too). I left a larger space on the orange spotted mat at the bottom and put alpha stickers that say “Crazy Hair”.  I left a larger space on the top of the green spotted mat and put alpha stickers that say “Don’t Care”.   I punched some orange and green circles and adhered them to the striped cardstock on top of the page.  I used a journaling tag and wrote about who were in the pictures and put that on the striped cardstock on the bottom of the layout.

Cute page for such silly hair.

God bless!

Goofy Pics

Hello,

It’s hump day!  Making it through the week and getting closer to the weekend!

Today I have a doctor appointment – no big deal but I don’t like going to the doctor.  But at least it is hump day!

Goofy, silly guy!

My husband (and me – a little) took my son’s senior pics.  Actually we took all of our boys senior pictures.  My husband tends to go on and on and on (one of the benefits of the digital camera, right?).  These are some of the pictures towards the end of the photo shoots where Tim was ready to be done.  He started acting goofy.

I trimmed down some of the pictures and I matted all of them.  I adhered them to the wonderful piece of cardstock.  I cut out a rectangle (that was the width of the matted picture) and adhered alpha stickers that say “enough”. I adhered it across a part of a picture that was not needed.  I also adhered the alpha stickers in the middle of the layout that say “goofy!”.

Cute page for a cute guy.

God bless!

Graduation Ceremony

Hi friends,

Another layout for Tim’s albums.  In a few days I am starting on my Christmas cards and putting scrapping aside for a few weeks……NOOOOOOO!

Tim’s graduation ceremony.

I started with a really busy background page (what you see on the top of the layout).  I added a short piece of gray cardstock to the bottom of the page.  I then added a larger (but not full size) piece of black glitter paper to the middle of the page.  I matted the two pics with black cardstock and then the gray cardstock.  I adhered them to the background and then added the 2017 stickers and the Senior crystal stickers.  On the gray I added a sticker that says “graduation ceremony” and then put a cap on the corner of it.  I then followed it with a quote by Eleanor Roosevelt (The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.).

Love the layout!

God bless!

We Blinked

Hi friends,

It’s Monday.  I am trying to embrace every day of the week.  I acknowledge and know in my brain that every day is a gift from God but some days are a little tougher for me to greet in such an optimistic way.  The closer I get to the weekend the more optimistic I seem to feel.  One of my new lifetime goals is to wake up each morning praising God.  Now… to implement that.

These are some of my favorite senior pics of Tim.  The sun isn’t right.  They aren’t his favorite.  I like them because he has a hat on (always wears a hat) and he has his skateboard beside him (loves to skate).

I used a piece of cardstock.  I then trimmed a half inch off two sides of another piece of cardstock and then adhered it to the first piece.  I matted both pics.  I cut out with my Cricut the tree.  I used two colors and cut twice to have the tree trunk brown and the top green.  When gluing the tree on the page I went a little glue crazy.  To cover that up I used some Wink of Stella around the edge of the tree.  It is kind of like glitter glue but it dries so fast.  I used gold.

After adhering the pics and the tree to the background I put the title on –  “We blinked.”

Finally I used a journaling card and wrote about  the pics and added some skating stickers.

We blinked.  It not only is about Tim is graduating and growing up and it happened so quickly.  It is also how this part of our life – kids at home (youngest to oldest) is coming to an end.  We started this parenting thing in 1984.  Now, 33 years later it is changing.  For me it is a lot of sadness mixed into a little sense of freedom for Brad and I.  For Brad it is probably the opposite – a lot of freedom and a little sadness for our life as it has been.  We both love our kids fiercely but he has focused on his career a lot when my focus has almost always been family.  I know a lot of moms go through this so I trust time will help heal my heart.

I will keep scrapping.  🙂

God bless!

Diego and Kansas (the dog)

Happy Friday,

Not many plans for the weekend but glad it is here.

Still working on Tim’s album.  Several pages left but there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

This page is about Tim’s dogs.  He loves them – especially Diego.

Tim and his pups.

I used the background paper I had that had paw prints on it.  I then put three pics of the doggies on a piece of brown cardstock and left a wide space on the bottom.  I then added some cute stickers.  Finally I put stickers that said ‘Diego &”.  Then I put a sticker that I got from the state of Kansas.  I crossed out “The 34th state” and put the word “dog” below.  Me and my sense of humor.

Cute page of Tim and his pooches!

God bless and have an awesome weekend!

It’s About Time

Hi friends,

Still working on Tim’s album.  With all that is happening in life it is slow going.  It will get accomplished and I enjoy the process.  That is what is important!

Finally, he graduates – about time!

This was a lot of fun and very simple.  I took a black piece of cardstock.  I had a matted picture of Tim receiving his diploma (came that way).  I adhered it to a gray piece of cardstock.  I attached that to the black cardstock.  I put the jeweled sticker that says “about time” on the black.  I put stickers that say “congratulations” down both sides of the matted picture.  Finally, I added one of his name cards (I will never use them all up but I am putting them everywhere that I can think of.  😉  ).

Looks super!

God bless!

Senior Pics at the Angel Oak Tree

Hi friends,

This is a quick layout.  I started it with a postcard that I bought from the gift shop.

Angel Oak senior pics.

I matted the postcard (just like I did the pictures) and put it on a beautiful piece of cardstock that works perfectly for his school colors and for a tree.

I then matted the picture to the right and attached it to the layout.

Finally, I wanted to mat the picture but I also wanted it to be a little snazzy.  I took the mat and turned it (and attached it to the page).  I then attached the picture (turned different than the mat).  Finally I added stickers to the top and bottom of the mat that went over the corners of the picture.  They say “senior” all across the sticker.

Last, in the empty space I added a sticker that says “class of” and numeric stickers for “2017”.

Very simple page but I love how it turned out!

God bless all of you!

Marine Ball (ROTC)

Hello!

Hump day!

Hope you are flying through the week and having a good time at it!  We are busy little campers, here.  We are having cars worked on, putting in a new kitchen sink and faucet (home improvement that we have never done before), besides taking care of some medical stuff and everyday life.

Here is a layout that I tackled and love!

Tim’s freshmen year ROTC experience ended with this finale.

First I emptied a bowl of seashells and traced the circumference of the bowl on the page (lightly with a pencil).  I matted the two pics that I wanted to use and decided where I wanted them on the page.  I then started putting the alpha stickers on the page -“Marine Ball”.

I found out later that I should have put Military Ball but I am not changing it.  It was at Paris Island, which is for the marines, so that is the reason my thinking went astray.  I guess if I would have scrapped it sooner my middle aged brain might have remembered correctly.  🙂

I then added the numeric stickers for the year.  I filled in the rest of the circle that I had traced with fun dance and music stickers.  I also added a disco ball in the top right corner and a sticker that says “Let’s Dance” in the top left corner.

A word of advice – or I could say, learn from my mistake – the pencil was a pain to get off the page (even when lightly traced).  I covered most of it with the stickers and pictures but then there were parts that were difficult to erase without damaging the paper.  From now on I am going to try it on the reverse side that I am going to be using and make sure I have the proper eraser available. (A gum eraser seems to work best and it will even help remove adhesives).

Thanks for stopping by.  See you on the other side of the week.

God bless!

Hats Off!

Happy Monday!

I am still working on Tim’s albumS.  Yes, I am admitting that there will be two high school albums.  One for his freshman, sophomore, and junior year.  One for his senior year.

Throwing up caps and beach balls.

It is kind of hard to see the hats and beach balls but they were there (and are in the pictures on close inspection).  🙂

I love the paper because it looks like a whole bunch of hats and balls at the bottom and then scattered ones the closer that they got to the top.  Like they were being thrown into the air.  I added some graduation caps(with fun expressions beside them) and a beach ball stickers to the layout.  I matted two pics on a piece of black paper and then made them separated with washi tape.  Last, I added a 3D sticker that says “Hats off to you!”.

Hope your Monday (and mine) is awesome!

God bless!
