How to Evacuate for a Hurricane

Hello!

Today’s post is the fun part of a hurricane.  Tim went to his cousins’ house and spent time with them.  He had a great time!

Evacuating for Hurricane Matthew.

The first thing I did was make the title “Evacuating for Matthew”.  I used a sage green ink and used a Fiskars Stamp Press to make the letters perfect.  Unfortunately the lettering doesn’t show up well in the picture.  Squint hard.

I then matted three pictures of Tim and his cousins (and pup).  I used brown and green mats to match the pictures.  We all went to a park and hiked a trail.  The last night we were there we went to the local fair.

First I attached the title to the cardstock.  Then I figured out how I wanted the pictures layered and attached them to the page.  I added brad paw prints and a sticker of a puppy that looks like our Diego.  I added a sticker that says “Family Memories” and  wrote on a journaling tag and attached it.  Last I added a tag that says “cousin”.

Fun page that will bring back amazing memories.

God bless!

Twenty-one Pilots!

Hello Scrappers,

This is a pretty easy layout but I love it.  For the last several years my son has loved the group Twenty-one Pilots.  He has went to a total of four concerts (one with my husband, one with both of us and his cousin, one with both of us, one with me and his gal pal).

Fun times!

I matted two photos from a concert.  I traced and cut a white circle and cut two rectangles the same size in blue and red.  I also cut a smaller black rectangle.  I then glued the rectangles on to the circle just like the band’s logo.

First I attached one of the tickets to the black cardstock.  Then I attached the photos at an angle overlapping each other and the ticket.  I then attached the logo.  I journaled on a tag and then attached it to the layout.  Finally, I added an arrow sticker on top of the tag (covering up a mistake).

I think the layout turned out awesome!  These concerts make up some of the best memories.

Thanks for checking out this post!

God bless!

More Junior Prom Fun

Hi girls (and guys?),

Another prom page.  Maybe the last one.  🙂

Time for dress up!

I was trying to tie in the white and blue balloons.  I punched white and blue circles.  I also used a fancy blue cardstock and matted the pictures in white and blue.  I then adhered the circles all around the page and added fun in all of them focusing on music.  I added stickers, fancy music brads, pearls, and lots of jewels.  After adhering the circles I adhered the matted pics.  Below the left picture I added the sticker “at the dance”.

A fun page that keeps the eye moving.

Hope to see you before long!

God bless!

Time….Slow Down

Hi friends,

Finished a layout that pulls at my heartstrings.  It started with a picture that Tim had taken in kindergarten.  It was sent home at the end of the year all laminated.  It has been in a file for scrapping for years.  The other picture is more current.  It shows how fast time is going and how much my boy has grown.  He is now a young man.

My boy is now a man.

The left side of the page is a real mellow sun and sky.  The right side has a camera background.  I divided the two papers with a border sticker.  On the left I used two different kind of letters to write “Dear Time” “Please slow down”.  I then put a clock on the page.

On the right side of the page I put the laminated picture on the mat that my friend and I made using watercolor and salt.  I will put the link below to a YouTube video that we made.  I also used another watercolor and salt mat in blue on the bottom picture with Brad, Tim, and I.

That is all for today.  I think I need to go look at the scrapbooks I made when Tim was young.  Kind of feeling melancholy.

God bless!

Using Ephemera

Hello Scapping Warriors,

We are in it through the long haul.  We are determined to scrap our memories and to enjoy doing so.  We may have lulls but we won’t give up.  That is a pep talk for us all.  We won’t be discouraged and feel like our efforts are unappreciated.

🙂

After Tim’s graduation I had a lot of decorations around the house (still have a few).  I could have just tossed all of them (did a few) but I decided to try and use some of them in his scrapbook.

A balloon holder for helium balloons.

I almost trashed this item but decided that I could use the graduation caps.  It sat on my scrapping desk for quite awhile but then I got busy with it.  I cut off most of the caps and then tossed the rest of it into the trash.

I then got busy making my page.

One of the rewards that Tim received.

First I trimmed down the certificate (just the edges).  Then I adhered it to the right side of the cardstock, leaving room at the top and bottom.  I then started gluing on the caps from the balloon holder.  It was pretty messy and some of the glue started showing.  I then started adding other graduation cap stickers that I already had (strategically placing them over a few glue splatters).  I included the extra 2017 cap stickers from his announcements.  I like that touch.  I added a sticker that says, “I’m done!” and one that says, “The tassel was worth the hassle!”.  Last I added the cap that has a lot of bling onto the document itself.

Nice!

God bless!

License to Drive

Hello!

Today I am scrapping Tim’s driving lessons and getting his license.  I had bought a heavy page of cut outs that involved the whole drivers license process.  I bought it a few years back.  I really thought he would want to get his license when he was closer to 16 but he was dragging his feet and it was just a few days short of his 18th birthday.

My boy is grown up!

Buying these pages can be really handy and result in a cute page.  I started with a blue sheet of cardstock.  I cut out all the individual pieces on the piece of thick paper with the driving design.  I trimmed down the picture in the “One Way” frame and adhered the frame to the picture and then to the blue paper.  I then matted the DL pic and left an extra thick bottom.  I then added the “I Passed!” cut out in that space.  I put the top and the bottom on the page and then journaled on the notebook page and adhered it.  I had the license plate sticker that says “Good 4U” already and added that, too.  Cute page for a big landmark.

God bless!

Prom Fun

Hello darlin’,

Doesn’t that sound southern?  What about honey, sugar, sweetie.  So many names that we are referred to since moving to the south.  I am picking up on a few, too.  Not sure what I think about that.  🙂

Today I had to look for Pinterest inspiration for another prom picture.

Don’t they look royal?

The glitter portion of the paper looks more peach than shows in the picture.  I used the glitter paper for the background paper.  I then had awesome “pretty paper” that I traced with a decorative ruler and cut out.  I tried adhering it to the glitter paper but the glitter paper wouldn’t let me.  I ended up using glue to adhere it.  That is the problem with glitter paper.  It argues when you try to attach anything to it.  I matted both pictures on peach paper.  I then put a black strip of paper across the “pretty paper”.  I then adhered the matted photos onto the black strip.  I made a crown out of glitter paper and put pearls on the tips.  Before attaching it to the layout I traced the border of the pretty paper with Stickles (a glitter glue).  Between glue for the glitter paper and the Stickles, there was a lot of drying time on this layout.  Last I adhered the crown to the layout and then added two heart brads to look pretty and to really secure it.  Love how it turned out.

I “stole” an idea and made it my own.  Paper lifting.  😉

That is all for the day.

God bless!

Fun Junior Prom Pics

Hi!

I started this layout trying to make it more formal.  I was searching through my  papers for the perfect piece.  I found it.  It made the pics more young and fun.  I love it!

Ready for some fun.

The ribbon paper was the fun paper that I found.  I adhered it to a sturdy piece of cardstock.  I then wove a ribbon through a flower brad and then adhered it to the layout at where the two pieces of paper meet.  I matted the pics on different papers.  The one on the left is a peach piece of paper.  The one on the right is a dark gray.  I then added a sticker frame around the one on the right.  It really got messy fast.  There wasn’t a lot I could do to correct it so I pulled out heart stickers.  I applied them on the corners and I pretty much covered the messiness.  Most people wouldn’t be able to notice anything wrong now.  I told you to give you encouragement.  You can fix almost any mistake with a sticker.  😉

God bless!

Junior Class Picture

Hello, hello, hello,

Today I am scrapping another class picture.  I must admit that I had to go to Pinterest and look for school picture ideas.  I took an idea and made it my own.  That is what I do a lot of time when I have a scrappin block.  🙂

Almost a senior. We (I mean he) can do this!

I took a sturdy piece of cardstock (I wanted to make sure that there was blue in it because of his picture and a sticker that I wanted to use).

I matted his picture and adhered it to the right side of the cardstock.

I then cut out a orange rectangle (color on the background paper).  I adhered the rectangle to the background paper beside the picture. I dug through my brad’s and picked out two that I like.  Using my paper piercer, I poked two holes in the orange paper and cardstock.  I then put in the brads.  I dug out some tan twine and wrapped it around the brad’s a few times and tied a knot.

Last touch….the sticker that I wanted to use (Junior Year) and another one (Almost a Senior).

Very easy once I found an idea.

God bless!

Big Air on the Skateboard

TGIM (?)  – Thank Goodness it’s Monday?

Hi friends,

I found an awesome skateboard paper (I already had it) that I wanted to use.  I also have some awesome stickers.  So I made a really quick layout.

Skateboarding fun!

I matted Tim’s picture, an amazing sticker, and a skateboard picture.  I  then adhered them to the background paper.  I added a skateboard sticker to the Street Skating sticker.  I added a Big Air sticker to the corner of the picture along with two small stickers on the bottom corners.  That is all.  It is a pretty busy page because of the busy background paper.  I tried to make it less busy by making a fairly wide mat onto the picture, the paper picture of the skateboarder, and the sticker.  I think it worked out pretty well.

That is it for today!

God bless you and yours!
